Jamie Cook Simon is an American painter working primarily in oil and ink. Her paintings trace the movement of light through landscapes, interiors, chandeliers, and the figure, using observation as a starting point for images that become increasingly intuitive through the act of painting. Built through repeated drawing, erasure, and reconstruction, her work balances structure with spontaneity, allowing light, color, and atmosphere to shape each composition. Based in New Canaan, Connecticut, Simon has maintained a dedicated painting practice for more than two decades. She studied in New York and Los Angeles, has exhibited nationally in juried and group exhibitions, received the Juror’s Prize at the New Britain Museum of American Art, and is represented in private collections across the United States.
